Are you associated with the University of Arizona?  Are you willing to help identify plants or animals in the field or laboratory?  Do you have time to volunteer for one or more weekends a year?  If so, and you are interested in joining the efforts of SIAC, please contact us and we would be happy to have your help. This group is driven by the enthusiasm and efforts of its student members, and we are excited to have more participants. Currently we are especially interested in involving courses on campus and providing an opportunity for classes (e.g., toxonomic survey classes) to travel to a biologically diverse field site and help with local conservation.

Please contact Christine Lamanna or Emilie Snell-Rood for more information.

We are a student-organized group, but we are grateful to have permanent links to the University of Arizona through our faculty sponsor, Dr. Robert Robichaux.  Dr. Robichaux embodies a central theme of the group in that he actively seeks to apply research questions to field systems of conservation value.  Currently, Dr. Robichaux conducts research and seeks to conserve the silver-swords, a unique, diverse, and endangered group of plants in Hawaii. See Dr. Robichaux's home page for more information.
